Laser Acupuncture
Safe Non Invasive
Accelerates Pain Relief & Natural Healing

All living organisms need light just like they need food water and air. Light therapy has been used for for years in the form of sunlight since it was discovered to have healing properties. In the late 1960’s Endre Mester demonstrated visible red light and infrared laser light at low intensity referred to as LLLT (Low Level Light Therapy) soft or cold laser, accelerated wound healing, collagen synthesis, enhanced formation of new blood vessels, promote enzyme synthesis and increased hair growth. He was regarded the father of laser therapy. His findings were published in Hungarian medical journals and therefore the benefits of laser therapy were first established and understood throughout Eastern Europe, China and the Soviet Union long before they were accepted in North America. Laser therapy was accepted in Canada in 1973 as a viable alternative to traditional needle acupuncture.
As lasers developed and became more affordable they became popular in Western Europe and Asia. Eventually the US accepted Laser therapy and in 1998 NASA conducted research in space on wound healing. US Flight Surgeons conducted studies on SEAL’s and Top Gun Pilots for neck pain.
In 1998 The North American Association for Laser Therapy was established to improve the understanding of photobiological mechanisms, basic laser physics, treatment parameters, and techniques. There have been over 2500 Laser research studies conducted and the question is no longer whether it is effective but how best to apply and understand it.

Therapeutic Laser Acupuncture Benefits
Non Invasive Painless Safe No Side Effects Fast Pain Relief Shorter Treatment Time Promotes Natural Healing
Laser acupuncture is a needle less acupuncture treatment used to makes patients more comfortable and relaxed and commonly used to:
Relieve acute and chronic pain, Stimulate nerve function, Increase circulation, Reduce inflammation, Enhance formation of new blood and lymphatic vessels, Reduce edema. Increase of activity and numbers of cells which produce collagen, cartilage and muscle tissue. Produces faster wound healing and is completely painless.
Patients often report a reduction of pain shortly after laser treatments, this most likely due to the anti inflammatory response as the increase of circulation and lymphatic drainage reduce the edema and pressure on the nerves.
Other reason for pain relief include: elevated levels of endorphins, electrolytic nerve blockade, restoration of blood flow to areas of stagnation. Laser therapy’s systemic effect is significant and well documented.
Laser acupuncture is a great alternative for people who are afraid of needles or, have an acute injury that may be too sensitive to needle. I’ve been using laser acupuncture for over 22 years safely and effectively on people and horses for acute and chronic pain, sprains, strains, fractures, lacerations, surgical wounds and scars, Carpal Tunnel, de Quervain’s tenosynovitis and more. I’ve completed advanced laser certification coursework and use the Luminex Laser.
Laser is safely used for the elderly and children. Safely used with pacemakers, metal implants, stitches and plastics. Occasionally, a patient might experience an increase in pain following treatment. This is more likely with chronic conditions and is not necessarily an adverse reaction. Actually, it indicates the laser treatment is working by increasing the circulation and releasing irritants that may have collected over time. An improvement will be noticed usually within 24 hours.
Physiological Effects Of Laser
Cells absorb laser light which stimulates mitochondria to produce more ATP or energy similar to photo synthesis. The most basic production of oxygen is due to the metabolism of the mitochondria. The stimulation of oxygen production increases cell vitality. This process results to influence communication between the cells and three important effects occur. Reduction of inflammation, Pain relief and the regeneration of tissue. Laser improves nerve function by decreasing scar tissue around the nerve making patients more comfortable.
