Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine for Stress Management

Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicinals have been used for thousands of years to help alleviate symptoms caused by stress. It’s a natural, safe, painless and powerful way to ease into a more relaxed state of mind.

Qi (pronounced chee) is the body’s life force or energy and in its normal state, moves freely throughout the body nourishing every aspect. Qi follows a normal pattern along channels and its free flow is essential for all bodily functions to occur. When the qi flows freely, naturally we feel comfortable, mentally focused, at ease and our body functions normally. When we have stress our breathing quicken and becomes shallow, we hold our muscles tight, our heart rate increases and we prepare to fight or flight, this is the self defense mechanism. Chronic stress keeps or body prepared to escape interrupting the free flow of qi causing it to stagnate which then disrupts normal body functions. This makes us feel tight, agitated, anxious and on edge and creates symptoms that cause us to feel unbalanced. Acupuncture helps to release or remove this stagnation and returns the body to its healthy normal balanced state.
